Very easy to install, Even with old fashion horizontal louvered windows. I™Â€™ve been using it for a couple of months now and it cools down the space very quickly and very effectively. Minimal noise and minimal effect on our utility bill. Terrific purchase! Well worth the money.

Unfortunately this unit is not suitable for my garage in Las Vegas. The heat is too excessive. Starting temperature in garage was 110F. Unit ran continuously for about four hours, but no progress.

Bought this unit to cool my garage, but the summer heat in Las Vegas is too excessive. It was 112 inside when I started the unit, hoping to cool the garage it to about 80. Unit ran for hours, no significant progress.

Great A/C just not enough for my 600 sq foot shop! I live in South Carolina and use this to cool our shop. It will keep my well insulated 10 foot tall ceiling shop at 70 overnight and 75 to 78 depending on humidity outside. This is far more comfortable than just fans blowing 95 degree humid air around but this A/C unit is not going to keep your 600 sq foot area cold just barely comfortable at best. If you are trying to cool 600 plus sq/foot unfortunately a mini split is a must!!! This unit will disappoint! Have not used the heat yet, I will update in the cool season on its heating!

This unit and most 'portable' units expel a lot of indoor air. This means that wherever hot, humid or cold, outdoor air can be pulled in to the room or house it will. This greatly reduces the efficiency of the unit and adds to the electrical cost of operation. Also, in 'heat' mode the condensate will be pumped out through a small hose that passes through next to the window vent. In A/C mode you will need either a container or have a drain close by as the condensate produced in this mode is not pumped out but drained out through a different connection on the unit. Just a heads up: if you have a wood burning stove in your house/cabin be ready to seal off the chimney as you will be smelling the chimney stink when you run this unit in either heat or A/C mode! In hindsight we would have been better served with a window unit.

Rating will change based on resolution. Trying to get a hold of someone to troubleshoot an issue with the fan having trouble starting up. Right before compressor kicks on the fan sputters about 10 times. Sometimes the compressor won™Â€™t kick on. This happens about half the time. No luck on contact.

I would have given a five star but the piece that goes in the window came cracked and I had to super glue it. Other than that it is very convenient to get out and put away when not using which is a plus for me as I get older.

I bought this a month ago and took it out today to use it on this muggy Chicago day.the exhaust hose is broken, making it unusable. the service # is not accepting ANY calls and there is no live chat. I spent nearly $550 on this thing and it's a big lump of junk. I expect at least to be able to speak to a customer service representative.

I™Â€™m very happy with the product. I a very large room and for this unit it™Â€™s no problem to keep it cool. Now that I™Â€™m writing this review, is winter and this unit it™Â€™s keeping the room warm to. Easy to install, easy to use. Even my kids know how to use or to operate the unit. Would be nice if it had and exhaust only mode. Also the louver position when paused does not remember his position when unit is turned off and turned back on . It has to be reset, which really isn't that big of a deal but I had one in the past that did have that feature so you didn't have to keep setting it. In cool mode air output is very very cold. So far, overall works very very well!

I use this in my attic/home office. My neighbor has the exact same 450 sq ft space, but her roof faces south so gets all the sunlight. Mine faces north so gets no direct sun. She cools her space with an 8000BTU unit from a brand I've never heard of. I state all of this as I researched my options before buying this much more powerful unit to make sure I'd be OK. Sadly, this things can't cool my 450sq ft space. It's been running 3 days non stop on the lowest temp of 60f and the room is currently 76f. I've used miles of duct tape to seal the inside and outside of the poor quality "twist n'lock" rear duct that leaked hot air. I've poured over the instructions. I've contacted Frigidaire tech support and give them detailed feedback that the compressor only kicks on intermittently, then stays off for 30 min periods despite the room being way hotter than it should be. I was told to switch it off and back on again. Then they told me to haul it back to Home Depot. They were incredibly useless.So far this is a $600 fan. Avoid!

I ordered this last month through home depot! the box came in sealed in good conditions. When I decided to use it yesterday (it finally started getting hot here) I found out that the part that connects the pipe to the unit itself is missing! tried to look for it online but no luck :( I called for costumer care, the next service appointement is in a week form now. I unfortunately will have to return the whole unit.
